A Study on Territorial Right of Manchuria in the Reestablishment of
the Goguryo’s founding era
-Based on cultural territorial theory and the location of Hansa-gun-
Shin, Yong-Woo
The purpose of this study is to find out that the territorial rights of Manchuria belong to the
Korean people. Based on the cultural territorial theory that the cultural sovereign of the
territorial culture that has been accumulated since ancient times in a certain territory is the
territorial authority, the basic theory is that the territorial culture of Manchuria and the
Korean Peninsula is purely formed by the Korean people. In particular, regarding the fact that
if the Hansa-gun, which was established in 108 B.C., was installed on the Korean Peninsula
and in Manchuria, it would have had an impact on the territorial culture of the Korean
Peninsula as well as Manchuria. Hansa-gun reveals the reason why it had to be established in
the west of Liao River.
In order to find out the fact that Hansa-gun was located west of Liao River, the researcher
first reviews the validity of the theories of the founding date of Goguryeo, and correctly reset
the founding date of Goguryeo to 217 BC. Next, it reveals the territory of Goguryeo at the time
when Emperor Han Wu invaded Gojoseon in 109 BC. At that time, Gojoseon was already
divided into nations except Wiman Joseon, Buyeo and Goguryeo were founded in
Manchuria, and Goguryeo existed as a powerful country. Goguryeo’s territory stretched to
the west of Liao River, including Mt. Yiwulu and Ui-hyeon, as well as the basin of the Xar
Moron River. Under such circumstances, Han Wu invaded and destroyed Wiman Joseon,
but there is no record of war against Goguryeo. In the end, Emperor Han Wu occupied the
territory of Wiman Joseon and established the Hansa-gun in that territory, which meant that
the Hansa-gun had no choice but to stay in the west of Liao River.
Therefore, in order to develop the logic, the basic theory, cultural territorial theory, and the
territorial culture theory are discussed. And after reviewing the theory that the founding date
of Goguryeo should be traced back to before 37 B.C., not 37 B.C., the foundation of Goguryeo
is reset to 217 B.C. according to the most valid theory. By revealing the territory of Goguryeo
at the time of 108 BC based on the resettled Goguryeo founding date, the location of
Hansa-gun, which had no choice but to stay in the west of Liao River, is determined.
Since Hansa-gun was located in the west of Liao River, the cultural sovereignty of
Manchuria as well as the territorial culture of the Korean Peninsula is our Korean people. This
