the Mesopotamia and Iranian plateau. They say this, based on the Sumerian names of the
cities, rivers, Gods, temples, kings, and the other available evidences. It does not mean that
they come from a far land, but it suggests that they settled in Mesopotamia after the great

flood which is mentioned in Sumerian legend and is considered in their calendar. [Figure 5]
Some others, however, suggest that Sumerians have North African origin who migrated

from Green Sahara to Middle East and taught people of that region the technique of culti-
vations brought from African Humid Period. 4)
