                 2. Analysis of Sumerian civilization

                   The Sumer was once located in the south of Mesopotamia which is in current day Iraq

                 [Figure 4].
                   Archaeological discoveries show that Sumer has had inhabitants for thousands of years

                 who have gradually learned the techniques of exploiting river water. About 5,000 years ago
                 people who called themselves Sumerians, migrated to the area of current day south Iraq.
                 Exact information about the Sumerian ethnicity and where they first lived, is not known.

                 There are different theories  suggesting that the Sumerians may have lived there in
                 Mesopotamia as one of the local tribes.

                   However, according to a more popular idea, which is also based on a Sumerian legend,
                 they entered Sumer by sea from the Persian Gulf.
                   Some historians like Kramer and Henrickson suggest that Sumerians were people of West

                 Asia who settled in South of Mesopotamia. Sumerians spoke Sumerian language, which was
                 a non-Semitic, non-Indo-European language or unlike any other local languages, spoken in
